Cara Therapeutics Closes Series D Funding Round

Shelton, Connecticut  --  Biotechnology company Cara Therapeutics has garnered $15 million in its fourth round of institutional venture capital funding.

Cara Therapeutics says that it is developing novel therapeutics that treat pain and inflammation.

Rho Ventures led the round, which also included Alta Partners, Devon Park BioVentures and MVM Life Science Partners. The company said it would use the funding proceeds for continued clinical development of its lead pain killing drugs.
